Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toniz Collins (born in Mexico) is the Mexican American journalist. She works for ESPN and works as an SportsCenter anchor for news. She started working at ESPN in the year 2016. She is the daughter television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins has been bilingual since the age of nine years old. It was a helpful skill that helped her secure her first job working as an assistant to the producer for Univision in Miami that gave her the chance to work with the producers of national shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. In St. Petersburg, she was then employed to the CBS station as an sports reporter. In 2009 she moved into Rio Grande Valley, Texas to work as an anchor for the newscast of the Spanish station KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. The stories she covered were about immigration and drug trafficking in both Texas and Mexico. She would also fill in occasionally as a weather and sports anchor. She was then anchor and reporter on Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. She was then given larger responsibilities. She covered all of the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason, Finals FC Dallas as well the Dallas Stars. In addition, she hosted her own local Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. The show was promoted to be anchor of the sports segment for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. In addition, she served as an anchor on sports in Primer Impacto, a magazine program that airs on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins was a native of Veracruz Mexico. The city of Mexico City she was conceived on the 22nd of November, 1985. Her older sister is also hers. Her family relocated to Miami in 1992 following the departure from Mexico. After a short time, her father split from her mother. She then remarried in 1995 a naval architect whose name was Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away from kidney cancer in 2006. The time of summer when she was with her younger sister in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had secured the job. Antonietta was about to graduate from high school, however she knew the things she wanted to do. In the end she was enthralled with the university. The university offered her an academic major. Following her graduation from high school, she decided to enroll at the university to pursue a degree with Media Studies. Mark Bergmann, her professor who was also the WRMU's 91.1FM station where she worked for a number of years, was her friend. Her professor urged her to have self-confidence and was greatly moved by his love of journalism.
